Solo: A Star Wars Story celebrated its world premiere on Thursday in Hollywood, two weeks before it was released nationwide – and visitors shared their first reactions on Twitter.
Writes Indie Wire film editor Kate Erbland, It "takes a little while until [ solo ] finds its feet and [young Han Solo actor Alden Ehrenreich] attracts enough charm to make you forget that he is not [Harrison Ford]. "
But, she adds, "as soon as it enters his hey-let's make-a-crew and yes-even-a-heist stuff, it totally flies."
Uproxx Senior entertainment writer Mike Ryan says the first act of the latest Star Wars standalone may be "Hit and Miss Clunky," but a "legit fantastic" Donald Glover as younger Lando Calrissian and the Kettle Run Heist Plot, Solo is "a whole lot of fun."
"It takes a bit to get used to Alden as Han," adds Ryan, "but after 30 minutes or so your brain adapts."
ComicBook com Joseph Smith calls Solo "a TON of Fun" and said that it is "more like a Star Wars movie than Rogue One ."

The film "feels surprisingly different than any Star Wars movie before," writes Peter Sciretta of Slash Film, "however, perfectly matches the tone, adventure, characters, and humor of Star Wars series."
"In addition," he adds, "I need a Lando movie in my life."
