7 UNI athletes and 1 staff member tested positive for COVID-19



The University of Northern Iowa confirmed on Friday that seven student athletes and one staff member tested positive for COVID-19. According to a press release from Panther Athletics, students who tested positive took part in voluntary university exercise, Panther Athletics said it will resume Voluntary exercise on campus despite positive cases. The school’s weight room is closed for deep cleaning before the holiday weekend and will reopen on July 6. Students who test positive for coronavirus must be quarantined for 14 days.

More than 150 athletes and employees have passed the COVID-19 test.
