Maynard told the Associated Press that the 18-year-old “bragged” that neighbors watched ISIS videos, even though he said he didn’t know whether she or her family was under activist surveillance by the authorities.
Menard was warned by the police that he was talking to noisy neighbors at the scene.
“They are afraid. They are worried that this will give a bad impression on this community and the Muslim community here,” he said.
