Mario Tennis Aces will be released on Nintendo Switch next month, and the game is evolving into one of the most exciting Nintendo sports games released in years. If you're not sure whether to buy it or not, Nintendo will do a beta test – and you'll be able to showcase your skills to the world.
Nintendo will be holding its Mario Tennis Aces pre-launch tournament from June 1
If you win online matches and earn points, you also unlock five characters. Nintendo will not say who these characters are, but we have a pretty good idea.
Along with the tournament news, Nintendo released a short trailer that showed the single-player adventure mode in the heart of Mario Tennis Aces. In this mode, Mario attempts to "thwart the evil plans of Wario, Waluigi, and the legendary thug himself," with Luigi captured by the cursed tool. It's the first time we've gotten a full story from the series on Game Boy Advance since Mario Tennis: Power Tour though it does not seem that the original characters appear for these games
Tennis you play in mode is not your standard back-and-forth game. We see Mario and a Boo Ghost moving between two magical mirrors, and a match against Piranha Plants that you have to hit with precision shots.
Mario Tennis Aces released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on June 22nd. The previous game in the series, Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash for Wii U, was hit with scathing reviews, mainly because of its limited content. Since the switch user base is already larger than the Wii-U, this time it should be easier to find a multiplayer match.
