Officers sent after Monday afternoon to search for a girl in their Salt Lake City home were found dead, and the police suspect they are playing unfairly.
Police spokesman Salt Lake City Sgt. Brandon Shearer said officials found the 15-year-old shortly after 3pm. in a house near 1650 West and 500 North. Officers think she was killed just before someone called to request the charity check.
Shearer would not explain why detectives investigate the girl's death as a murder, saying only that "evidence at the crime scene" was one. 1
The police refused to divulge the girl's name and other details of the alleged murder, pointing out the continuing nature of the investigation. They have not made any arrests in this case, and they said they want to talk to 24-year-old Shaun French, who may go to Wyoming.
Frenchman wearing glasses and wearing a beard may drive a Daihatsu Rocky camouflage in 1991, with Wyoming license plate number 19-13974. The police consider him armed and dangerous, although they say he is not a suspect.
"We just want to talk to him," Shearer said.
Anyone with information about the case or the whereabouts of French may call detectives at 801-799-3000.
